Selected for the prestigious Presidential Management Fellow program, Ms. Redmon began her career as an International Trade Specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration in 1995.  Currently serving as the Acting Director of the U.S. Commercial Service-Virginia and Washington, D.C. office, Ms. Redmon oversees a team of Senior International Trade Specialists and Commercial Officers assisting small- and medium-sized businesses to enter the international marketplace and expand their global presence.  

Ms. Redmon also serves as a Senior International Trade Specialist with a focus on the industry sectors of Aerospace & Defense and Safety & Security and enjoys helping companies in these sectors export to markets around the world.  During her tenure in the Commercial Service, she has led multiple trade missions to Latin America and has served as the Global Teams Leader for the US Department of Commerce Trade Americas Team (2006-2010).  She has also served on detail to the U.S. Embassies in Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Guatemala, and the United Kingdom.  She most recently led USDOC efforts at the Farnborough International Air Show (2016, 2018) and the Paris Air Show (2019), as well as several security and defense shows around the world. 

Prior to her current position, she worked for three years at the USDOC Headquarters in Washington, D.C, serving in the Office of NAFTA and Inter-American Affairs.  Ms. Redmon graduated from Georgetown University in 1995 with a Masters of Arts Degree in Latin American Studies.  She also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Latin American Studies and Spanish from the College of William and Mary.
