Aaron Miller is the Director of International Business Development at the Virginia Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) at George Mason University. In this role he works with small businesses to help them increase sales through exports, access capital and trade financing, comply with U.S. regulations, and build or augment export competencies. He leads an interdisciplinary team of undergraduate and graduate students who provide customized research for Virginia firms. Students under his leadership have gone on to careers at the World Bank, government, venture capital, private equity, consulting firms, small businesses, and top 25 law and business schools.

As the former Vice Chairman of the Virginia/DC District Export Council from 2016-2019, Aaron was responsible for training programs and partnerships that increased DEC financial holdings by more than 700% while greatly enhancing the visibility of the DEC. In addition, he led new DEC member recruitment efforts in 2017 and 2019 that boosted representation of women and minorities from just over 10% to nearly 40% of DEC membership.

Mr. Miller leads the only NASBITE Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) Accredited Training Center in Virginia and Washington D.C., having delivered variations of the curriculum for small businesses, trade professionals, local economic development organizations, and universities. In addition to George Mason University, he has taught at the George Washington University Center for International Business Education Research.

Mr. Miller serves on the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition’s Virginia Advisory Committee and as a George Mason University Ashoka Changemaker Leader. He was born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio.
